Yes, WOW indeed! I had an enjoyable noodle through my recent kilo of pennies and half's My keepers were Halfpennies 1908, 1924, 1934, 1953 1957, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1967 Pennies 1867 1868 1872 1875 1882 1886 1892 1894 1901 1902 1905 1908 1910 1920 1922 1924 1934 1934 1935 1939 1940 1953 1957 1961 1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967 1912H 1919KN Here are a few. Sorry but you have a 1957 penny? If you did and it was British, it would be unique. You may want to recheck it and make sure its not 1937, or 1967 and not Australian or New Zealand.

Ah yes a senior moment, apologies  Thanks for pointing that out Princetane, sadly it's not the impossible penny. I was listing some from memory and had the 1957 half penny in my head at the time. And just on that subject, I think that halfpenny,(1957) is what is called a "calm seas" variety. Can anyone confirm this, or put me out of my misery? It would be low down in the grading tree I think.  The Ox moves slowly, but the Earth is patient.

Thanks for that NumisRob. Averaged out over the kilo of coins, it cost me around 40 cents, pretty happy with that.
Nice set of 1953s Gainn, if you don't mind me asking, how much did they set you back?

Another acquisition surprise, to find this stashed away in a PVC folder with some Irish moderns. It seems to be in pretty good condition, maybe close to UNC or EF+, opinions gratefully accepted. And I must confess a huge amount of ignorance about Jersey. The name is no stranger to anyone, but for the last 66 and a half years I have had no idea that it is an island off the coast France, a crown dependency of Great Britain!!! It is a good thing that I have found this coin today, and I shall read up about the chapel on the Hermitage of St. Helier.
