My girlfriend and I want to get a decent metal detector to take up to her farm and search around. It is many acres and is right outside of Nashville. So possible to find many coins and civil war relics. What do you guys suggest that we buy?

I have been looking at the Garrett Ace 350 and the Garrett Pro Pointer.

Are there any other suggestions. Would like to keep the price around or under $400.00.

Thanks

I have the Ace 350. I really like it. Would be a nice combo with the Pro Pointer.

I suggest a used Minelab Explorer. I hunt with a lot of people, almost all of them swing Explorers. They just got tired of being spanked on group hunts. You should be able to find a used Explorer in the $400-$600 range.
