I was going through my box of non-slabbed coins last to sell and stumbled across the LWC. It was one of those "bid and forget it" items on ebay. I usually don't separate coins unless I seen something which would warrant further examination...but the reason was kinda obvious on this one. There is "just a bit" of Machine/Shift Doubling on the date, mint mark, chin and bust. The reverse is normal.

Just a bit? I had to pour my beer out and rub my eyes. I thought I was seeing double. Cool coin.

PS I was kidding about the beer. I don't drink anymore.

That's an extreme example of MD! Let me guess, the seller called it a "double die".

I don't remember what drew me to the listing BadThad, but I think I bid a buck on it many years ago.

Way cool MD. I would go a couple bucks on that. Nice coin. 2x2 it and put it in with your others.
