Last one would be RIC 249, Rome (Z left).

malamute, the Sol is Rome mint (following RIC), not Milan, there's an error there on WW

Quote: I don't see this hippocamp with a dot on its back in Ric. any ideas.. Almost every Roman die started with a dot in the center which was used to layout the border of dots. On 99% of the dies this dot was erased by something being cut exactly in the middle of the die. On obverses, it only survived on some face to face portrait coins. On reverses it can be seen between two figures standing left and right unless the cutter either erased it or put something there like a handshake. Here your hippocamp is a bit below the center so the dot remains. RIC considered this sort of thing a technical matter and did not separate dies with low hippocamp from those with centered ones or ones where the dot was erased. I'll attach a couple other meaningless dots from coins I have uploaded here before (now that I know how to do it). Now the best one. On this twin portrait provincial obverse Godiian III and Tranquillina have two dots between them. The larger one is a pit recessed and came from the devise that smoothed the flan so it was not on the die and varies in position on other coins from this die. The smaller dot is raised and was the die layout dot like the one on your Gallienus. It is quite possible that the two dots would fall on top of each other so you would not see the small raised one but here the centering was off just enough that they overlapped just a little. Studying dots like these can tell you things about how coins were made but they will not show on worn or corroded coins or when the guys at the mint planned ahead so they would be erased even if there was a space in the middle for them. Sometimes the dots were so small and weak that they are hard to find even on nice coins. Every die was different.
