The 25 Days Of Barber Coins!!

Interesting question - William Barber [ father of Charles ] was indeed the US Chief Engraver until 1879. Although he did engrave numerous dies ie: medals, patterns, foreign coinage - and modifications of existing designs - his only circulating design was the Trade dollar. Feel free to add images of his coinage, we'd all appreciate you're becoming involved and posting images of these beautiful coins.

When collectors refer to Barber coinage, 99.99% refer to Charles' designs.

Picked this up today from a friend who had bought it
because of its toning - and its his only Barber. So, I'm
having it shipped to me. The coin is a screamer !



Photobucket is acting up - and has misfiled some Dimes.
Once I locate them - I'll add those images later.

In the mean time - a friend who dabbles in coins as a
"vest pocket dealer" had this coin on his web site.
I recognized the coin immediately - its one of my all
time favorite Quarters - just a great coin - I wish all
my Quarters looked like this:
