A 1901-S is rare coin and there are enough details
left on that coin to make it the envy of many here.

Color IS important and many collectors seek it out.
It is second on my list after strike, which in Barber Dames is important to understand.
I have light chocolate, dark chocolate, various shades of grey and yes, even a few bright white.
Your 'homework' is clear: to notice other coins whose color pleases you. You need not buy them. Simply note favored colors when you see them. Eventually, you will see a coin that you want in a color which suits you: BUY IT if you can.
You will never regret it.

I will post my current newps once I am off the iPad.
I picked up a nice 1895-S Quarter in PC 55 and a
1913 Phila in PC 62 ( it's a 64+ with a luster break
on the cheek, IMHO ).
Not going to Baltimore next week. The new rescue
Dobermans are keeping me home bound for awhile.
I adopted a Black and Tan Male and a Rust and Tan
Female. He is 2 yrs old, and she is 4 yrs old. They go
to the dog park every morning at 6:30 before the crowd
arrives. Only one or two other dogs arrive about the same
time and they play well together. It's amazing to see three
Dobermans and a German Shepherd run around together
just being dogs having a good time.
I'll get pictures up ASAP.
