How does one obtain the new coins in unc rolls? Is it luck? How do people get full boxes of new quarters? I find ATB Quarters to be hard to come by. And they seem to have weak strikes and a frosty glaze unevenly. What's up with ATBs?

Also, what banks allow you to order halves? Five star bank said they don't order them.

Thanks for any help!

I have been given whole boxes of new cents and dimes when I ask for a box. They just grab me a box from the pile without looking at the coins. In my experience it's just luck.
I heard somewhere that the coin venders will send circulated coins if they have them and only when they run out will they send new ones.

Hhmm, if that's true, after thanksgiving should be an interesting time for coins! I hear people deposit old one's, so I want those, but because of all the transactions maybe they will have new one's too? Only time will tell!

It's random. I cringe when I get a brand-new box of dimes, but that's just me.
As far as ordering halves, you've got to shop around until you find a bank that will order. I've accounts with 2 diff credit unions and 3 different banks with several branches. 80% of them will order halves with no fee.
