I have a question to the people in the know....I was looking at a topic in the other section of this forum on the farewell 20 for 20 and it got me curious as to the other ones. In looking at my Jubilee 20 for 20, I noticed the one on the left seems to have some damage spots on it. They're both still encased and not looking forward to un-case it to examine it so I was wondering.....does anyone know what damage this is if not something common? is there more like this? I have 2 coins and one seems fine while the other looks funny. Thanks in advance,

hard to tell exactly from angle of the pictures.
best guess right now based on the white rings is the infamous milk spots that plague RCM bullion and mirror finish silver coins

Bummer....should return for a perfect specimen...all 3 of mine were perfect, as they stated from the Mint.

never heard of "milk spots" before....its not visible if looked at directly on, just when its on an angle. I'm pretty sure these ones sold out so exchange would be out of the question in that case. Perhaps if I get the courage I'll take the case off and get a better view. Thanks for your input :D

Well, it is really unpleasant.
But the loss is minimal - only $20.00
the worse situation, if you trying to collect some other RCM bullion, Wildlife, for example and than discover that it become to develop "milk spots", or even worse - colorized Maple Leafs, or the 1989 Proof SML - this could be crazy.

I would suggest (it is just a suggestion) not to spend time and energy to find out what exactly happened to this coin, but to deposit it to your bank. It could cost you some "stressed" minutes of conversation with the teller, but finally, probably after some period of time you will have your CAD 20.00 on the account.

Muchly appreciate the information, I agree, it could have been worse so I'm glad for that. I'll likely keep it as I have two of all the others from start and it would kill my OCD having only one of that coin. I assume that this will not cause any damage down the road beyond what it has already?
