Two Tokens - One Unknown, One For More Information.

scottf New Member Canada 1 Posts	Posted 11/05/2012 10:47 am I have recently found (metal detecting) two tokens. Both found in Alberta Canada. One is marked Hotel Allan Rossland BC, good for 6 1/4 cents at the bar. Which I have identified as being from a gold rush age hotel from that town that burned down in 1978. If anyone has more info it would be greatly appreciated. The token is aluminium and in very rough shape, here is a photo. The other is a brass/copper one I haven't identified. It has the letters C.B. on one side and Automat on the other. Any info on this would be super. Here is a photo of it. Report this Post to the Staff

The Canadian gold rush town of Rossland, British Columbia, was only incorporated in 1897. As to the denomination, probably just means four of them are good for a quarter. Anaximander Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 709 Posts	Posted 11/07/2012 09:24 am If I recall correctly, 6 1/4 cents would be equivalent to 1/16 of a US dollar, and also 1/16 of the Spanish dollar or 8-real coin, which was legal tender for some time in the US as US$1.
