here is my Edward V1 shilling which is damaged.
It is 450 - 455 years old
comment on your views of this coins and if you know the price for this even tho its damaged feel free to estimate.

Damaged...would be a tough word to use. I would say clipped, in order to make small change. There is history there! I'd pay about 20-30 dollars here in the US for it.

Really? I got it with another 15 hammered (this being the best probably) for 22 pound!

Now take it step farther- Find the mass of your piece, find what the standard mass of the shilling was at that time, and extrapolate what denomination, the person intended to make? A fun little project... to say the least.

See if you can go online maybe a catalog or something, they are out there, (some of these other guys might be able to help a little more with a source) and find a complete example of you coin, it should have the weight of your Edward VI coin in its "full state." Then weigh your "piece of coin" and find out how many times the weight of your piece would go into a full coin, then take that weight and find an Edward VI coin of a smaller denomination with a similar weight, and changes are that was the "scissor man's" target denomination. Not always but most likely. You can also find out how many Pennies went into that shilling and find out how many pennies went into your piece.

great!I must try that sometime! my coin is 3.1grams I think the originals are a little over 5.0grams
