Quote: Zonad Do you have a table there? No, still only a collector/hoarder. If you see a short balding fellow whose glasses are constantly on move from top of head to nose and back it's likely me. The Edmonton dealers know me.If anyone is interested we should have a meet greet/lunch and show and share early afternoon.Anyone with cell phone email me your number and I will text time/place to meet.

My first show, can't wait. I'm going to be on the lookout for art bars and south African and Australian bullion coins.

Anyone interested in having lunch and show and share meet in main hotel lobby at 1PM on Saturday. We can lunch in lounge or in restaurant depending on age who show up.

So, I attended the show in the afternoon. It was packed while I was there, and the dealers I spoke with indicated it was a good show for them.

Was there for my first coin show.. Really brought to mind how much there is still to learn. I've collected comics for 30 years and can handle myself at a comic show - these dealers and other attendees knew as much about coins as I knew about books, and I found myself just sitting on a chair looking through flips but I was really soaking up all the conversations around me.. Wish I'd been doing as much with coins as I did with books for 30 years. One thing's for sure, I think coins are a more solid investment than my books..

I spent waaaaay too much money at this show! Time will tell if that is a good or bad thing. My bad for bringing too much cash with me and then deciding a few higher end pieces had to come home with me...

Mostly ancients and a handful of other non-Canadian coins. I do most of my Canadian coin buying online, and the bi-yearly show mainly for ancients that I can see and evaluate in hand before buying. A must in my opinion since ancient coins generally aren't TPG'd. Here's the top two pieces that drained my wallet the most. Both are very high grade/quality ancients that are getting quite hard to find these days. "Mintstate" ancients are extremely rare (akin to MS66-67 pre-1968 Canadian coins), but these are pretty close! Greek, Corinth 375-300BC AR Stater Pegasus flying left, Helmeted head of Athena facing left. Sear 2626, EF or even gEF Mysia, Parion 4th Century BC Hemidrachm gEF
