These coins were struck on rounded dies, half at a time. On this coin when it was repositioned to strike the other half it must have moved and the result was half the coin was struck off center.

Here is another Manuel I Sear #1966 with a die makers error. The obverse is Christ enthroned and should read IC-XC Greek for Jesus Christ. This one however reads XC-XC Christ-Christ. I have to look through the rest of these for more errors.

The second error is really neat also. It looks like the obverse 5 oclock pealed off and was pushed back on during the striking process. Interesting!

Yea I am looking at a set out of Europe for $50 bucks for 4...unless I can get Ski over here to part with one. :-)
