I did not have much time to go hunting, but a coin dealer came to my table, offering me some coins. Now, if this was a collector, I would have pointed out a coin they mis-identified, but a coin dealer, too cheap to get a table, and wandering around the show trying to sell - well, shame on them for not paying attention to their own coins. Most dealers did not buy from this guy, mostly because he was annoying, and he wanted 75% of trends. However I did snap up this coin, which was raw and in a flip marked 'Obverse 2'. I paid $160 for this one (without haggling)... which has nice toning, and aside from a very minor rim ding, is a problem-free VF-30.

Exceptional reverse on your coin for the grade! That's the kind of VF coins that I seek.

1871 OBV1 are not as scarce as Trends pricing would lead you to believe.I have bought about 25 of them at less than 80% of OBV2 prices, lower grade at 60% or less, given a couple away and traded a few, still have about 20,I guess I have an obsession.Sometimes I get the urge to send them all off to ICCS,keep the best two for myself, and put four or five up at a time for auction to see how quickly Trends pricing would drop.
A lot of dealers don't have time to scrutinize their inventories for all possible varieties.I find them at shows about 50% of the time.
