I'm thinking N-6, 23, or 33 and I'm leaning toward a late state of 23. The problem is that with the late dates you are usually looking for tiny die lines or "points" coming off of features that are for all practical purposes not visible in photographs.

So what lines would allow me to make the correct designation? Thank you for your help by the way! I would love to get my hands on a reference but they are impossible or to expensive to find!!

That would be The Die Varieties of United States Large Cents 1840 - 1857 by Robert Grellman. I'll send you a PM or email with the contact information.

There is also a new book out on the series bt William Noyes that does use photographs with enlargements. I haven't had my hands on a copy so I cant tell how useful it is. It is a two volume set that covers both the middle and late dates. Unfortunately they didn't break the volumes between the middle and late dates, and you can only buy it as a set for $235.
