Decided to post this here since my regular forum is not operating at the moment. There had been some talk about 2012 cents being a total bust on varieties. There were some decent trail dies but nothing too significant in the doubled die category. I thought the same but wouldn't cause me not to still look and for good reason.

I found a 2012 doubled die reverse that is most visible on the "JFM" on the reverse! It shows on "LB" as well but not as prominent. It's not extremely significant but it is at least noticeable to even the newest of searchers.

Much like the 2010 discovery I made a couple weeks ago (Which I see is listed on coppercoins now as 2010P-1DR-001), I got pretty excited when this came under the microscope. :) This should act as a reminder to check EVERY coin! :)

I was wanting to save it to post on my regular forum but I just have to post it and show it!

Way to go! Nice find

Any doubling on the other devices? (besides the initials?) The Motto or United States of America may have harder to distinguish doubling

Thanks everyone!

There were only a couple die markers I could seem to locate on this die. The front has the most obvious die marker of a die crack running from the bottom of the "W" in "WE" through Lincolns head. The reverse is nearly absent of die markers other than a small die scratch running off the "R" in "AMERICA".

It seems the doubling doesn't show much beyond the SE portion of the coin. Or at least my setup isn't capable of making the doubling very apparent. Here are some additional images of the die markers and different portions of the coin that show the doubling. Giving the condition of the coin; it really is proving difficult to get decent pictures so please bare with me. :)

Nice finds!
I found a minor doubling on the obverse of a 2012P,I posted it a while back. This week I found one with trails on both side,in "TRUST' and "UNITED".

Thanks!

I use an AmScope with a florescent swirly lightbulb. I use a cheap 12.1 MP digital camera and shoot through the eyepiece of the microscope. Looking to update my setup for better and clearer pictures in the near future though. My setup right now provides decent pictures but inconsistent results.

As to why this is not my normal forum; when I got into roll searching I decided that the forum that would provide the most information would be a forum dedicated to the denomination I search. So I joined a forum that was only dealing with cents. It was the one and only forum I had registered for as it provided me the information I was most interested in. Now that its not working, I decided to join the other forums I had seen people reference before thus bringing me here. So now that I'm here I'm not going anywhere. You guys are stuck with me. Lol!

Forgive me for not saying so earlier.
I'm glad to hear that you will be here long term, you have a good eye and I look forward to more great photos. I do not know who was on the other forum but we are fortunate to have a number of "pros" who post here.

Thanks DrDon. :) It seems the 'pros' populate any forum dealing with coins. The same ones here are probably the same ones there. lol!

LOL Monika! I've experienced something very similar when I was going through OBW rolls of 1978D cents. Went through maybe a roll and a half before I realized I had been seeing a Class 6 DDO (1978D-1DO-001) in the previous 1978D coins I had looked at. Since the doubling was not really that noticeable, I located a nice die marker that made going through the coins again to pull out the class 6 DDO's as quick as possible. I hope you find one of these or a new one! :)

Scott, did you ever send your coin to one of the experts to have a die number assigned and pictures taken? If so, who, if you dont mind me asking?
