Hello everyone, I'm terrible at telling AU wheaties and MS wheaties apart from each other. Instead of posting 12 different threads in the coin grading forum, I thought I would post pictures of some and get your opinion if any are in MS & which one you personally think would grade the highest.

The following pictures are from my scanner so they're a bit dull, scanners tend to kill the luster in pictures but my camera doesn't get as high quality.

Here's 2 pictures I took (of the same coins) with my camera. The quality is a bit lower, but at least you can see the luster a bit better.

Thanks in advance!

I have, but I'm not good at grading either, I usually get it wrong. As stated in the topic "...I'm terrible at telling AU wheaties and MS wheaties apart from each other." What looks like a MS 63 to me on the PCGS grading chart, I've posted here and the average response was around AU 50.

Tuff to tell from a scan. There will be lotsa opinions. Even TPGs vary in their opinions because of varying standards.

Wow.. hard to tell your pics are somewhat small. scans as noted doesn't give you the real color and look that photos do.

If I had to guess... I would say #4 and 5 may be MS the others look AU.

I can provide larger images if needed. I can scan the coins at 19,200 DPI if needed, the coins show up HUGEEEEE (around 4000x4000 pixels)

@SHAFTA9a, you said #4 & 5 look like they could be MS, but which image are you talking about, 1 or 2? Different coins in both images.

First image: 3,4,6 I would say for sure AU. 1&2 50-50 shot (like the toning on 1.) 5 pretty sure is MS.

Second set: top row AU, bottom possibly MS.

As you said, it's hard to see what kind of luster is there. I might very well say completely opposite in hand. YMMV

Thanks a TON Smokerideron! I'll isolate those that you think are/could be MS and take better pictures so that the luster is visible. :)
