Monika this may not be a Cud. I detect rim design on top of the metal. Also, there is not corresponding weakness on the obverse due to metal flow if it were a Cud. I vote for extra planchet metal that struck into the coin. Still nice error!

Sab...i made a picture of the other side....the letters on there are distorted a bit.Its the exact spot where the Cud is on the other side. I just always thought it was Cud....

Rims Cuds are known on several State Quarters, the appearance of this one is quite typical and they will usually not display corresponding obverse weakness due to size.

Does not look like a rim Cud to me but a normal Cud because it goes into the field of the coin, it's not just on the rim. John1

I thought Rim Cuds are only contained to the rim and do not extend into the field? I still have a lot to learn....:)

Many State Quarters have a circular field next to the rim. What I meant by "rim Cud" is that the die break typically stops at the edge of that small circular field and does not intrude into the main design.

During the States Coins heyday, there were bringing up to $80. But they are probably less than that now though. Nice find. Did you check cuds-on-coins to see if it is listed? http://cuds-on-coins.com/washington...tate-terr-2/It is there: CU-25c-2006P-1RC(ND)

If you find one not listed, you might want to submit it.

I definitely would look on ebay and see what comparable coins are being sold for. Almost every price guide I have ever seen is way low.

I like Cuds a lot. I would be proud to own this one.
