My next experiment was trying gun bluing on a clad quarter. I didn't have a silver coin I wanted to ruin. The clad quarter was a Texas state coin. My apologies to the Loan Star people.

I applied the bluing to the quarter with a Q-Tip.

Dab off the excess.

One shade of color.
