I found this 1970-s penny with a wrinkle above the date while searching through some rolls from the 1980s. I haven't seen anything like it before.

There isn't any damage on the back of the coin that I could see have caused it.

Anyone know what the deal is with this coin?

Thank you. Do you know if it has any value? I'm surely going to keep it either way.

Not like this, if it were to go around the whole coin and some devices were hidden as a result, I would keep it for show but still not considered to be worth much of anything to most collectors. You will want to make sure that this coin is not of the small date variety before discarding it. For your reading pleasure:

Thanks. Even though it's not worth more as you say, I will still keep it because I have not seen anything like it in searching thousands of pennies.
