Okay Ozcoins, I'll buy in ... is this a genuine error or PMD? Just when I think I am learning to discern between the two, I have no clue about this.

If it is a genuine error, I am very jealous

I think it is a genuine error.
I think the lines in the pic are a fingerprint.
I cannot see any signs that it is PMD. The rim and some of the lettering looks fine, so it has not just been ground down on something flat.
Elsewhere it has been suggested that it is from 2006.
It had also been suggested that I weigh it. I will try to do that and post the weight. I don't have accurate small scales, so I might ask at a "we buy gold" place.

Hi Ozcoins, so does that mean it is genuine or not? RAM website says it should weigh 9 grams, but how can it weigh an extra .03 grams with bits of raised design (equalling weight) missing?

Now I am really confused as I thought it would have to weigh less than the maximum issue weight of 9 grams ... and definitely not more ... sigh

Edited by me: Ah, comes the dawn. Just realised what a stupid response that was as the weight of the planchet would not change because of the quality of the impression ... double sigh

Someone suggested I weigh it to see if it is a normal weight planchet, or if it is underweight because metal has been removed.
It was suggested that if the coin is within 0.1g of 9g it is probably a genuine error.

0.03 of a gram is nothing really. Coins often weigh well under or over what they are meant to. Cobgrats ozcoins I think this shows it is a genuine. What a beauty!!!
