I have a 1932 Canadian penny that is rather unusual. It is not a copper colored one as might be expected but rather is a silver color like a nickel or dime. It appears to be in very good condition. Has anyone encountered this type of coin? I have searched the web for information about it but nothing comes up.

None of them are copper, they are bronze.
Can you post some pics side by side with another cent to compare?

wow Smallcentguy that very is impressive. I find it very hard to photography this metal. the photos that I have taken. just does not show the shine or the color. I will set up a light later. I will then try bouncing the light off the ceiling. that should work. that is some coin you have. I like that coin. the one I have looks about the same as yours. I will try later to get some photos. I know who can photograph this coin thou ray can do it.

I am pretty sure that mine is plated. Very shiny.....too shiny to be mercury. I think rhodium.

i am wondering would this coin be worth getting XRF. to find out what the metal composition is of this coin?. now here is a side by side that DBM requested. the coin is very hard to show the shine. so I had to play around with the lighting. the single photos are of the same coins. any thought greatly appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure rocky, just my best guess, I gave one of my granddaughters a set of low grade GeoV cents, she promptly learned online how to clean them with an ultra soft toothbrush and ketchup. The results look very much like your coin.
