Ok I am wondering about this. What do you guys think about the 92 S and 89 CC? Do they look fake? There are a lot of question marks here but that CC looks awesome if it is real? http://www.ebay.com/itm/230878256958Thanks guys Edited by throwbackid 11/13/2012 8:11 pm

I would not touch those coins with a ten foot pole, the seller(chamblee56) is a known crackout artist who was outed here a couple months ago- https://goccf.com/t/128352

Why do you say that Dave? Isn't this guy a known scam artist?
I was gonna buy it for that CC and that 92 S
I bid $5k and was out bid.

If you bid, win, and refuse to pay then you get a Non-Paying Bidder strike. By the selling rules I've set for my account, that means you'll never get to bid on one of my coins again. If ebay doesn't just nuke your account in the first place. Nobody likes a non-paying bidder.

Oh my fault I thought you guys were saying this guy was a scammer. An just an FYI you don't get kicked off ebay for having one non paying bidder strike. Wasn't trying to be a jerk I guess I just misunderstood that Indian cent thread.

I was wondering why that 1889-CC looked so familiar. Probably because it was featured in this thread. Like the others said, stay away. The winner is going to be in a world of hurt.

Quote: Oh my fault I thought you guys were saying this guy was a scammer. He is, but that's not relevant. You're proposing to fight a scam with a scam, and you can expect no sympathy for that. In fact, you're partly responsible for making the eventual victim pay even more.

Stay away. Sold for way too high. Coins do not look like they have original surfaces.

Quote: Coins do not look like they have original surfaces. They don't. As you'll notice from D0ubl3Eagle's post above, we've already seen one of them here at CCF.

Geepers ... the OP helped in a significant way to push this to over $5K ... despite honest warnings from the CCF experts ... big bummer to the eventual winner. I thought we at the CCF were better than that ... and at the end of this auction we supported a known scam artist to help rip off an unknown buyer. Black eye indeed IMHO. Hoping the winner is wise enough to realize they have been ripped off and seek resolution. David
