1920-Half-Dollar---Is-This-Normal-?

Take a look at this coin. Is this a normal thing to see on a coin. I'm referring to the hairline looking thing. Just wondering because I truly am not sure. Could be run of the mill damage but almost looks like it was issued this way. I ask because I got a coin from owner if this coin ya know. Pic may not be enough to tell but any feedback helps.
Thanks

Nuffin, I'm not an expert, but to me this looks like a die crack. That means it's similar to an error coin.

Looks like the 1920 Pilgram, the line isn't part of the design and is probably a die crack. Maybe one of the mods can move it to the commemorative forum though or hopefully some of those guys will see it here.

Nice die crack, and in terms of value, better off WITH it, than without it! Adds a little interest and rarity value to it.

That is a die crack on the reverse of a Pilgrim half dollar ... you mentioned 1920 in your post title ... and as such there were 152,000 of these distributed (with 200,000 minted).

I mention the mintage figures because a die crack occurs ... obviously ... near the end of the useful life of a die ...

Not sure of the 'useful life' of a commemorative die in 1920 ... but at least 50,000 coins each ... so your coin was struck near the end of one of the dies used at the time.

Nice example ... show us a photo of the entire coin and we can offer more informed opinions.
