Thanks to a member who mentioned here that all those magician half dollar coins can be sold on ebay.
So I listed a few of them and the results varied. One guy bought one from me on Sept 23 and paid instantly. After two weeks he did not asking for return or leave a postive feedback.

One day this month (I must've got out of the wrong side of my bed) I left a couple of positive feedbacks for those non-responsive buyers including this jerk. After a day or so passed, this jerk emailed me claiming that the magician coin was a solid half dollar coin. I refused to refund or send another one because it has been more than 40 days and he only contacted after I left the positve feedback for him which was totally bull. So he gave me my only negative feedback a couple days ago. I started ebay in 2000 and have a perfect feedback profile for over 300 transactions. I met only two scumbags. Last one tried to blackmail me after received the shipment but because I did not leave feedback first so the scumbag just walked away without doing harm to me. (I offered full refund but he wanted more at a discount price because he was not satisfied the first time). This time I overestimated the humanity and I lost.

Lesson learned: I should never leave a positive feedback first as a seller whether the 14-day returning period expired or not. I mean in most time it should be ok. But it takes only 1 cheater to spoil a deliberately maintained perfect feedback profile. If you want this jerk's id, you can email me.

Now I hope that I can get this neg removed by ebay. It's a very slow process.

Any other tips from you to dodge this type of cheaters and have a pleasant selling experience would be appreciated.

I feel your pain. I had the exact same problem with another buyer with my other ebay account.

As soon as I get paid for something I sell on ebay I always leave positive feedback.
After all, the buyer has fulfilled his/her part of the deal by paying for the item.

Withholding feed back isn't a "Bargaining Chip' it is the buyers due as soon as they pay.

You should have given the option to return the coin and then issue a refund when you get it back.
I think it may be your lack of flexibility that earned you the neg.
This buyer might not be a "Jerk" at all but simply a dissatisfied buyer that you angered.

Look at it from the buyers point of view, you are not happy with something and after 2 weeks (I sometimes have to wait up to 5-6 weeks for items to arrive in the mail) the seller tells him "No way Hosea' your time is up, tough luck sunshine.

I bet YOU would leave a neg with that response to a problem

Ask him "what do I have to do to get you to retract the negative feedback". If he replies and says you need to do X,Y, and Z, report it to ebay. They don't allow feedback bribes and you will likely get the negative removed.

I feel your pain. I had a guy leave me negative feedback without even contacting me or asking if he could return the coin. I always have a 14 day no questions asked return policy.
All he said in an email was, "Coin not described as. Very bad of you."
The coin was described accurately. If he didn't like it, he could have returned it.
We have to deal with Einsteins like this every so once in awhile.

I am a buyer myself too. I always leave a positive feedback immediately if I am satified, ask for refund within 2 weeks if I am not happy. I don't neg any sellers if they agree issue refund. I don't leave a neutral feedback if the experience is soso.

As a seller, I always ship within 1 day and my shipping charge is only $2.00 and sometimes is free. I offer 14-day no question asked return policy. I use a bubbler-padded evenope ($0.40), paypal USPS ($1.64) so I get free delivery confirmation. I laser printed out two pages ($0.20) This particular shipment arrived within 5 days. So I expected him to return 2 weeks after receiving. I even included a hard plastic 2x2 which costed ($0.50) just for him. How did I anger him?

if they are going to leave a negative they will, the seller can not leave a negative for the buyer so it doesn't really matter when you leave feedback for the buyer if they are going to neg you they will even if its the last day they can do so. Since the buyer has to pay before I ship and I can not leave a negative if there are problems I always leave feedback as soon as I get paid now

This is very good advice.

I call this seller tactic "trying to induce feedback extortion." It only works, of course, if the buyer responds and specifically says that he will only take away the negative if you perform those actions. I wouldn't state it like the quote however..that's too obvious.

Say

"I would like to ask if you could retract the negative feedback you've left on my account. I would also like to resolve the situation. Please state any ideas you have on what I, as the seller, could do to fix this and get the feedback retracted."

That is polite, subtle, and will still get the buyer (who is possibly angry) to say something like "I will only retract the feedback if you do X, Y, or Z."

You win. From what you've described, otherwise, the feedback will stand and you lose.

This isn't guaranteed to work, btw, but it's your best chance.

Yes this is quite irritating when you have a 100% score. I got a buyer like that, except he couldn't/wouldn't tell me what the problem was. I tried to get ebay to remove it because there was no reason given as to why the transaction deserved a negative, but ebay obviously didn't think so...

Oh well, life goes on

If this is your 1st and only negative feedback, and you feel it was unjust, why not give a brief explanation of how it happened in your future item descriptions...

I registered with ebay in June 1997 and had both my ebay & PayPal accounts hacked into in April 2006 that ended my dealings with both of them...
I would have welcomed a negative feedback instead of a account takeover, and both ebay & PayPal, due to privacy laws, were not able to provide me information on who had taken over my accounts so I could pursue legal action as they used two credit cards and my bank account...

There are a lot of pathetic buyers on ebay who are quick to leave a negative without first contacting the seller. You can contact ebay and attempt to resolve it but it's rare that they take action. I had a guy leave me my first negative for "never shipped buyer beware". Well, he NEVER paid for it! There's certainly no way I'm going to ship something without first getting paid. I called ebay 3 different times and they never removed the unjust negative even though the evidence was clear. However, almost a year later when I hit 1000 feedbacks the negative finally vanished. I got a generic message from ebay that they took action to correct my feedback. Too bad it took nearly a year!
