For some unknown reason to me I have decided to collect all the 1935 series of $1 silver certificates. They are not particularly rare or valuable. To qualify they must be graded by PCGS and have a grade of 63 or higher with PPQ. Currently I have excluded the Hawaii, North Africa and experimental notes from what I am trying to collect. Although I have a North Africa and am waiting on a Hawaii to return from grading. So far I have a 1935A, 1935C, 1935D, 1935E and a 1935H.

All types of raw $10 notes from 1928 to 1963, minus the 1933. At the moment there's really no standard, just to get the best I can with my budget.

I fell into doing my quirky collection because I am looking for some very specific stuff and not wanting to over pay so I spend a lot of time searching but little time buying which is frustrating to me. I started noticing the 1935 Silver Certificates everywhere available in really high grades for low prices. So when I just need to buy something to keep me from making a stupid decision I pick up one of these notes at the best price I can find. And if I don't win an auction there is always another one available just as nice. So it is sort of a fun distraction.

I got into currency collecting after completing a lot of different coin sets and getting a little burned out about the whole "complete set" idea. I started collecting U.S. fractional but after a while expanded into collecting anything fractional! I currently collect U.S., Confederate, Confederate States, and U.S. Obsolete fractionals. I was just given some fractional MPC notes by a Friend?! so I am probably going to start collecting those too. I can go to a show and almost always find something that will add to one of my collections. I also collect other ecclectic types of currency but they're more serious in nature collections. The fractional is just for fun because it will never be complete!

One of my more quirky collections is USGPO refund coupons.

Montgomery Ward refund checks issued by the War Department is another.
