I picked up a roll earlier this week to spend. This is my 3rd roll of Prez coins. I probably went thru 3 rolls of Sackies and SBA's in Jan & Feb.
To give it a figure I would guess I've put 120 dollar coins in Circulation so far this year.

I'm going to the bank tomorrow so I will definitely get some dollar coins and put them into circulation. I've spent half dollar coins and people stare at them, look at me, look at both sides of the coin and finally decide to give me my change. I can't wait to see what the reaction is when I give them a Presidential dollar.

I have been using the dollar coins since the Washington came out in Feb. The only $1.00 bills I have are from someone paying with them and they are never put in the register so someone couldn't say they wanted paper instead of coins. I have only had a couple that were ticked off, but they will get over it.

As I posted elsewhere, I have been having a great time spending the Washington Dollars.

I got re-supplied at my bank today, and presently have about 30 to spend.

It's really fun to put them into circulation.

Same thing is true with JFK Halfs.

I'm suprised that an Aussie has'nt conmmented so far.
We scrapped the one dollar note in 1984.
Replaced with 25mm diam. al/bronze coin. (gold coloured)
WE scrapped the two dollar note in 1988.
Replaced with 20mm diam. al/bronze coin.
In 1992 we stopped using 1 and 2 cent coins.
New Zealand stopped using 5 cent coins recently.
Just needs a government with a bit of guts.
The sky is not falling, life just needs a bit of adjustment.
We have saved a few million trees. Good value if for no other reason.
regards,
Rest in Peace

If the people in power were convinced that constantly making replacement dollar bills was contributing to global warming the bill would cease to exist. Just a thought.
