Julia Domna This isn't a real good coin but then again I only paid $21 including shipping for it. Should be here in a few days, I'd imagine. I'm slowly inching my way to the 50 Roman Imperial ruler milestone. This will be my 48th. So I lied about getting another coin this month. But hey, it wasn't intentional. I managed to get a few unexpected dollars. lol

Nice pickup! Always good to get a nice 1800 year old coin for what is basically gas money. When I was looking for Julia Domna I was actually considering buying that very same coin you have now when it was on sale but I settled on this one: Felicitas reverse. Its a little more silvery in hand (but not like overcleaned shiny)

It is a nice coin for sure. Yeah, except that $21 won't get you much gas now days. lol Quote: Just getting into ancients, & I like it. Bing is right that collecting ancient coins is addictive, I know. lol They are also a lot of fun and very interesting to me. Also more affordable than what I at first thought. In a year, I've managed to get over 70 coins with a low budget. Thanks guys for the comments on the coin!

Julia Domna Denarius. IVLIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right / HILARITAS, Hilaritas standing left with long palm resting on ground & holding cornucopiae. RSC 72. RIC 556. s1839 I just got the coin in the mail today!! Yes, I know the photo doesn't look as great as the seller's photo or even as good as in hand. This one was scanned like all of my coins. I am very happy with it and so it goes into my collection as my first Julia Domna and my second Severan Dynasty coin.

Gil that is a great pick up for the money. Kudos to you, I paid all of twice that for my VENUS GENETRIX...

Yeah, I saw that coin and figured that wasn't bad for $21 and so I ordered it. I try to limit coins to approximate $25 or less and I've found some fairly decent coins for a low price.
Thanks to you guys for commenting!
