hi guys,
I was inspired by eng and ski's byzatine cup coins so I went shopping for some. didn't win my ebay auctions, but got this one ....pretty darn close to a byzantine cup coin...but not quite. I've had my eye on one of these for a while. would have been a good coin for the ancient/medieval smackdown.

here's the sellers original pics, had some dirt on it so I cleaned it up a bit, couldn't see the kings faces...

REZPENZ - "Byzantine Style"
Scyphate (cup-shaped) Coin.

Obv.: REX BELA - REX STS Two kings enthroned under arches, long cross between them, half moon & symbols below.

Rev.: SANCTA MARIA, Madonna holding sceptre, Christchild in other hand. 2 crosses above her.

The coin cleaned up nicely. I thought that original photo is kind of fuzzy too.

OK guys, thats a great coin with a lot of detail and a neat style, you have got to stop showing me coins I now have a laundry list of stuff I need to buy now. Kudos to you Chris very very nice coin. Cup shaped coins = scyphate.
