This is what I dug up about your watch in the "Rare or Scarce" topic... hope you enjoy it. To all others reading this topic, the following was posted here in order to stay within the rules...

Information with respect to Pocket Watch Serial Number: 6978254. Having not seen the watch on my bench the following is only a cursory/initial assessment and is only my opinion. If you want to get your watch appraised for resale, see a professional watch-maker. The technical info is obtained from my collection of American Waltham Watch Co. factory documents and various books.
Your watch's manufacturer is: American Waltham Watch Company (AKA Waltham)
Your movement Serial Number is: 6978254
Over 118,000 produced
Grade/Name: unnamed "Waltham Mass." Listed as "Export" in some factory records which make sense if you got it from Canada, it was made in the USA for export to Canada.
Model: FP-14 (FP stands for Full Plate)
Jewel Count: 7 Jewels
Hair Spring Type: Breguet
Wind/Set Mechanism: Key Wind / Key Set (on the arbor holding the hands on the face)
Size: 14
Your watch was made in 1892 as part of a run of 5000. A date depicting when a watch was made only indicates the time the movement was finished/adjusted. It may have been actually fabricated much earlier.
With respect to the case, dial, and chain, it would be only speculation on my part. During that period in time (late 1800's) movements were sold separately, then matched by the jobber/jeweler for the customer directly in the store where purchased. Like buying a diamond ring today, you pick the jewel, the band and the jeweler puts it together for you.
I would avoid winding the watch unless it has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted recently (two to five years). You can actually destroy the movement if not properly lubricated.
Knowing that the watch "works" is awesome though, a professional Clean, Oil and Adjust (COA) would guarantee a nice collectable piece for years to come. You can then even carry it if you wished.
You Watch is worth, in my opinion, roughly $150.00 â€" $200.00.
Overall, your watch is not rare (keeping in mind the topic on CCF...

), kind of "low" end to be honest but very nice nonetheless. The fact that some color is running around the number VII and VIII onto the dial surface demonstrates that the raised numbers are likely Brass or copper based materials and not Gold.
