My local coin shop was asking between $600-$700 if I recall for the $5 hand select
I also saw a $10 1913 and $10 1914 that also looked fantastic. I don't normally buy gold because it's often out of my reach, but even I was dazzled. They looked so nice.

@Redzapsid: The one I had offered you awhile back, selling for another collector, sold for $725 on ebay, and another for $680 offline. Both were decent but with noticeable imperfections on the obverse

Moneypenny,
I haven't decided if I'm going to sell them yet, let alone decide on a price. Although I positively hate graded coin holders, I think it would be far easier to sell them if I got them graded. I can't figure out how to load photos here from my iPhone so I don't have them posted but the 1914 is in very nice shape. The 1913 isn't to bad either but under magnification, they both still look better than I was expecting them to.

I was just at the 'Boutique' in Ottawa. They have two $10 coins on display, one premium, and the other 'hand selected'. The clerk pulled them from the display case, and I took a closer look. Without magnifier or other enhancement, I saw no difference between the two. In fact, when restoring them to the shelf, the lady had to check and see the Gold vs Silver hologram label to tell the differences. They were both stunning, and the $750 premium price, was simply that - IMHO, a premium price for the same coin.

Dcadon; That was my opinion when I compared two 1914 $10 coins at the Vancouver Boutique. There was very little difference between the HS and Premium coins. Both have a lot of bag marks. The Premium had slightly better lustre.

Is anyone aware of the going price on the 1914 $5.00 Premium select? I was waiting for the release numbers before putting a price on it and now I see there were only 103 released. I'm sure PCGS would give it a MS64, although I'm probably leaning towards a MS63 due to one distracting mark in the field.

Still waiting for my order placed for a 1914 $5 on the first day of sale in the first couple of hours. Received my order for a 1912 coin placed in Feb in March.

1914 $5 ordered Nov 29th...still wait. Processing as of Apr 2 but still status of 'new order'. The processing date has changed at least a couple dozen times. Extremely frustrating that orders from Feb were filled before orders from Nov.

Maybe they accidentally blew through the stock on subsequent orders and are now rummaging through the melt pile for you guys But I do hope you all receive them soon, the proper ones.
