My feeling is that people over react to this release. To be honest, I dont think that many coins was released, especially the $5 gold coin. I think its a buying opportunity for people who wanted to have this coins and yet to make a purchase. to focus in on 1914 $5, the mintage of this coin is 31122. This release does not increase the mintage of the coin. In fact, we now knew that there will be a huge batch of this coins going to be melted. This relase of gold coins by the mint actually would spur peoples interest in this coins and I think in the long run would increase the value.

Now the only choice for $5 is 1913. The people who still want it need to hurry up.

I'm more than a little curious about the quality of the coins here. I own a PCGS MS-64 graded $5 from 1912, and I'm desperately hoping (though without much optimism) that the quality of these coins lies in the MS-63 and below range.

Time will tell but here's my guess. I suspect that during the hand picking, the very best coins were set aside. Few in number, they would be logistically hard to sell on-line so they were likely sold to a dealer (probably Bromberg) for more than even the premium coins.

I think the hand selected will be MS60 or below, the premium will be MS63 or below and that anything MS64 or better were sold to a dealer. There are likely only a small number of very high grade.

Long term, I think MS64 or better will remain very rare.

Just my opinion.

RCM should make some collector card like the 1812 ones, with 6 holes for all the $5 and $10 variety, and give away as gift...

Like people on Earth, the Martians for sure have / had several main spoken languages, and it still open issue - which one of them should be translated to English. Their council hasn't responded our request yet.

So my prediction for the 1913 $5 hand picked coin came true. When it shows web only, the stock is low.

The next to go is the 1912 $10 hand picked coin. Actually, if people missed out on the $5 coins, the $10 coin is still a good deal because you are getting 2X the value of gold ($820) of the $5 coin. It is the same as buying two $5 coins.
