This was graded a VF at the coin store. I think a F is more fitting. What do you think? Not sure what's going on with the rim on the reverse.

15, maybe 20 Details to me. As small as these are, I tend to offer a bit of leeway. LIBERTY is weaker, but the head is stronger than the Dime I called "maybe" VF25 in epikur's thread.

I'm on board with the VG10, possibly F12 but there is so much going on with the injuries to the reverse. And the cleaning is going to set you back to details? As a buyer I would have wanted to be in that coin for spot or a small premium over spot. Just my thoughts.

Six evenly-spaced notches on the reverse rim; past jewelry mount?

Details wise, I would grade it a solid VF but as mentioned earlier it looks like it was removed from a jewelers mount and polished.

Might just make VF-20 details. Cuts on the reverse do seem to be from a jewelry mount.

A lot of responses since I last checked. One question though. What gives it away as cleaned? I looked at it pretty good before buying, and I just didn't see the normal "cleaned" characteristics. In other words, it doesn't look dipped or whizzed or even soaked in acetone or ?. So, just for the sake of knowing before buying next time, what tells you it's cleaned?

Hmmm....struck without a collar?

I don't see the obvious cleaning on this one either. What is with the extras behind the stars?

I think VF20 details would fit. Looks to have an old cleaning and some dummy notched the reverse.
