I found this in my change & noticed it looks like its a mint error. Any ideas?

I'm going to say PMD, but I'm interested in what the experts say. Very odd though. Looks melted. On the second look, I see something going on with the top right corner of the Lincoln Memorial too.

That's a very interesting coin and a good catch too. I look forward to the outcome.

I look near the top of the 4 pillars on the right side & see they are different than the others & ALL lines would match up to the top crest if they werent turned down...

Something scraped along the top of the columns and the area above #'s 2,3,4,5. It then turned down crossing #6.This happened after the coin was minted thus the PMD designation.

For PMD it has a cool look. Kind of looks like the memorial is getting sucked into a vortex.

Nothing is gouged & the edges close to and on the said area are all rounded like they were melted into place & not sharp in any way...

Not sure how it would happen. As far as I know about the minting process, there is nothing there that would cause that sort of damage. That's why my thought is PMD. Those are some really great photos by the way!!
