Well, here we go again. "Awaiting Stock" on the mint web-site with "Shipping starts December 7th". http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/santa....ULEte-Q8CSo

Gatewest indicates - not available.
Colonial Acres - 1 remaining in stock (11/24 15:25)
Canada Post - no longer available - it was yesterday!!

And of course, the $29.95 issue price has been pushed to $40 and beyond on ebay.

All this, despite having a 'mintage' of 25,000.

I saw this coin in person in a CP store, this year's lenticular design has visible horizontal lines that you see on many toys, while last year's was completely flat

On backorder at J&M, these coins will flood the market once the mint finally gets them made. If you can get them in hand now, it might be a good money maker in the short term. But not long term IMO.

Interesting. I have to think the Mint is taking it off sale to ensure that they deliver before Christmas. More than any other coin, this one has to get to customers before December 25th. Otherwise, it is a total fail.

Perhaps that will ultimately mean low mintage . These Christmas coins don't tend to hold value over time - that said, I have them all and ordered this one the first day it was available.

Same story here! Another disappointing technical problem! Supplier called me because this item was holding up a large order and the mint had informed them that technical problems would be creating a signifcant delay. He offered to cancel the lenticular coins so I could at least receive my long-delayed order! Great supplier customer service but another poor job by the mint.

This coin is back in stock ... do you think it is safe to order now? I mean technical problem free?

I've just realized this is the 6th coin in the series. The Mrs like it quite a bit and today, I managed to pick up 2011 and 2012 version of the coins. Time to look for the others. for those that haven't found it yet, try some Canada Post, that's where I found my 2 coins.

I have them all and just received the 2012 today - I think it might be my favourite.

Maybe it's because it's the first one to be silver coloured. I think the fake gold and/or copper on the others looks cheap. Or maybe it's just because it's the most recent. Dunno.

Hey CC-Ottawa, does the sticker on your box have "2012 50-cent coin - Santa's Secret" written on it?

Yes it says Santa's Secret and even 'Le secret de père Noël'.

Kind of odd since the COA and marketing call it Santa's Magical Visit.

I wonder if they had a last minute change of name 'cause "Santa's Secret" sounds just a little bit creepy.

And definitely not as good as Victoria's.

Hmmmm a lenticular Victoria's Secret coin....you may have stumbled onto something there.

Not sure if there would be a Canadian connection there...maybe a very young Queen Victoria!

I wonder the same and was worried they gave me the wrong cover for the box. Oh well. I find this one hard to see the 2 image and I liked the 2011 better. But I do like the silver look of this one though.

But the COA says "Santa's Magical Visit", the same on French.

The "Santa's secret" on the sticker looks like a joke.

I have a "rare" COA number: #12517 - this is mid mintage (out of 25000), and in addition:

12+5=17 [12 5 17]
Rest in Peace
