Picked this one up today, out of a scrap bucket. I figure it should be worth a bit more than spot. The thick rims show a nice tapering at the clip, but there is almost no Blakesley effect on this coin.

Actually, it is partly formed during the rimming stage of the coin (think of Newton's 3rd law of motion - of equal and opposite force (in this case pressure). The lack metal pushed up into the rim, shows up poorly struck. You can even see this effect on clipped type two blank planchets (i.e., prior to being struck).
