According to my calendar the show should be on for this Sunday. A dealer/friend said it should be a good one. I'll be there. If any CCF members plan to visit, I'll be happy to meet up.

I might be interested.
Where in Parsippany is the show being held and do you know the hours? Do they have a web site?
Thanks,
Bob

They don't have a current website, but it is mentioned quite often on the net. It is a monthly show, the first Sunday of every month. It is in the Parsippany PAL building #33 Baldwin Road. You can find easy directions from Google. Hours are something like 9-4(I've also heard 8am but I have never gone that early). The show is busy from about 9-1. From 1pm, some dealers start to pack up. it is best to get there early. The show usually has about 100 tables divided into a main room and smaller room off to the left. The show has dealers in US & world coins, currency, bullion. The quality of the show is usually pretty good.

Thanks, that sounds great. According to Google maps it's about 40 minutes from my house.
I'll try to make it if I can. You'll know me by my leather jacket and Grateful Dead tee shirt. If you see me say hi.

A fellow deadhead. Nice. I have no idea what I'll be wearing, so if a tall guy, brownish hair with a black backpack approaches you, it's me. If your directions show you have to left onto Baldwin Ave. beware that you have to first turn right (should be a sign advising you Baldwin ave. is ahead) to exit for Baldwin Ave., cross over Rt. 46 then you will now be on the correct side for the PAL building. The marker for the right turn exit to Baldwin Ave is the Outback Steakhouse. It should be right after it.

I was a bit disappointed because a couple of the regular dealers I buy from did not make it. But I did make one good find while digging through the junk coin bin, and I would definitley say it was the highlight of the entire show for me. I found the tall guy with the back pack from the CCF forum... It was great fun finally meeting up with another CCF member at a coin show.

Yes I met Harry213 at the show under funny circumstances. I was waiting to dig through some junk coin bins for large Canadian cents. I finally got to the ones I wanted to search but someone was already searching, and pulling the Canadians. We began to talk and Harry213 figured out who I was because we were talking in the Canadian CCF forums back in October. Harry213 was nice to let me have some of the Canadian large cents he put aside as he had some doubles and triples. Thanks Harry213. Which good coin did you find in the junk bin? For the antique dealer we went to see, try to hit his table first when you get to the next show. His table is busy early and the interesting stuff leaves fast. I showed you the cents I picked up from him. You can get better condition ones for this guy at the same price as the junk bins. I also picked up from him a decent shape 1859 Canadian cent for $1. Like Harry213 said, it was nice to meet a fellow CCF'er. NJ Bob if you were there I missed you.

Hi sjh, I wasn't able to make it as I've been under the weather and it's been kind of day to day. Maybe that explains my mix up about the day of the show (at least that's my story and I'm going to stick with it).
I would have been great to meet you and Harry123, maybe next time.

Hope you feel better. Today's show was one of the better ones; fairly busy. Perhaps we will all meet up at the next one. Take care.

Yes it's a good story; I was telling sjh241 about the addiction I have to collecting Canadian large pennies, when he began telling me of the good find he made at the antique dealers table at the last show; sjh had posted on the forum about an almost complete set of Canada small cents he scored, including an almost impossible to find classic album. And before he could finish I nodded my head and smiled and said; "the coin forum right", the rest is history, good times sjh That coin box was worth alot more fun to dig through than what I paid for the coins I pulled from it. I did manage to find a handful of decent Large Penny's. And I found a few more of the obsolete transportation tokens that I recently began collecting. I was also telling sjh about the key date silver Canadian nickel I pulled from a similar box at another show I recently attended. A 1915 with a catalog value of about $25 I bought for about $3 Then sjh tipped me off about a roll of Canada cents that the antique dealer had on his table, so we set off to see them. I bought them and I asked him if he had any more. He began to dig through his stuff and found a stash of coins he forgot to put out earlier. Mostly old world silver, I looked around to see if you might have any interest in it but you had wandered off to another table and then I lost sight of you. So what did you find? Anything good?

I first did my shopping for the stuff I collect, so I picked up a 1930 MS66 red Lincoln, and another from 1934. I also picked up a VF30 1843 Petite Head Large cent small letters. Then I hit up the two tables for books and got the Charlton Canadian Coins catalog(I recommend it since you like the Canadian cents) and a pocket Top 100 VAM book. I also started to get interested in medals and tokens so I picked up some things that interested me. The last thing was doing the fun stuff like you were doing, searching the bins for Canadian cents, old tokens and some stuff for the books I'm making for my boys (indians, Lincolns, V nickels, buffaloes, etc...). I hit that antique dealer when I first arrived so I got those Canadian large cents I showed you and some US medals from 1909. He did have an 1859 Canadian large cent for $1. I got that too. How was that roll of Canadian cents? Anything interesting inside?

Nice, you did mention those Lincoln cents. I am working on a red Unc. set myself. Today I passed on a 1934 D MS64 I felt was over priced and a couple 1935 S in about MS63 that had too many distracting marks on them. Boy am I picky or what?....Then that 1934 D the guy showed me was butt ugly, I didn't even want to know how much it cost.. Right now, aside from the 2 dates I just mentioned, my BU set is complete from 1934 to date. I have a few scattered BU dates before 1933 but have a long way to go.. I've had the Charlton catalogues (both the coin and the Token guide) for awhile.. They are great reference books, I'd be lost without them. The antique guy actually had another 1859 cent. I tried to do a package deal with it and about 4 other old world coppers... But the price he shot at me kind of turned me off to the deal so I forgot it and looked at other stuff. By the way he also had another one of those vintage Whitman Albums for Canada Large Types, too bad I can't use it. I haven't completely tore into the roll yet. I did open it and poured a few into my palm. Looks like mostly QE II portraits, 60s and 70s. Hopefully I will find a few KG's in it. When I get some time I will check it for varieties, then throw it into my copper penny pile :) I'll let you know if I find anything in it.
