I've never seen this thread before! We have eight cats. But, my wife is more likely to knock coins off the desk (and she has) than the cats.

If you want to communicate with a cat, you need to learn cat body language. It's not difficult to learn.
Example:
You will instantly gain acceptance from a cat, if you shut your eyes sleepily at it, with a smile on your face.
It usually has the effect of lowering the blood pressure in both of you. That's a medical fact.
