1967Canadapenny did you win it...I lost by 14 cents :( those were the last 2 loonies I needed to complete my set of all circulated loonies (even though they aren't for circulation)

Same guy won the 2001 Loonie I sold last week.
I really did not expect circulated proof likes to even sell.
I guess the non circulating makes them desirable in any grade.

I noticed these loonies too, but passed on them. It's a much better value to try and scoop a couple of PL sets. If you're patient, the entire sets can be found for $10-$15 each.

By the way, I found a 1998-W CENT in a roll a few months ago!! You'd think it's cheap enough not to spend! It's a tough economy, I guess.

My dad found a "W" toonie once and gave it to me. He's always on the lookout for me. Of course I had to point it out to him, but he always lets me go through his change.

2004

I would've kept it if it was a 1999.

I found a two dollar specimen coin in change once but it was so banged up I re-spent it I guess maybe I should have kept it, but I couldn't imagine anyone wanting it for there collection

I agree papeldog, common date coins proof like or specimen banged up are not worth saving. "Impaired Proofs"

I only keep the ones that are not issued for circulation.
The loonies that started this thread 1998 1999
I got a 1997 caribou quarter
2004 specimen dollar Canada goose
All found for face value.

I had a 1999 Loonie found in circulation so worn that you could hardly see the date. I should have kept it as it would probably have been a 'very rare' Good-8 at best :)
