I am hoping someone knows about old Mexican gold coins. I found a very small 1865 gold coin from Mexico, for sale. I think it is a 1 peso coin, but not sure. I am going to go look at it again. I know it is about half the size of a dime (it is very small). Does anyone know the denomination or possible value of a coin like that. Thanks.

It could also be a "gold miniature", a tiny replica of a gold coin made for jewellery. We'd need a picture, more info or a more confident description to be sure of what you've got.

Sap is right. I've seen replicas, and they look very fake. The font is not consistent and the image of the eagle is madeup. They are just made into medallions/pendants for the public and buffed to shine them up.

PICS PLEASE!
