Question to you expert coin hunter. The 2012 is suppose to be the last year that they are producing the penny in Canada. But they've recently extended to Feb or March of 2013? If that is the case, will those penny have the marked year of 2012 or 2013?

I am moving this to the 'Canadian Coins, Bank Notes, and Paper Money' forum since it is more likely to find a speedy answer there.
Not sure about Canadian law, but in the US, coins are supposed to use the date they are minted. So in this scenario, it would require these cents to be dated 2013. However, legislation can override the requirement, allowing the date to be frozen at 2012.

It very common in Canada to have coins that have certain date to be minted on the actual date and early in the following year. Examples of this 1948 dollar coins minted in 1948 and 1949 as well as 2006 pennies minted in 2006 and 2007.

Nope - they stopped making Canadian 1-cent coins back in May. What is circulating now are coins that are already minted... The spring 2013 deadline is when the banks and Royal Canadian Mint begin to actively withdraw the coin from circulation.

The last circulation penny was struck on May 4, 2012 in Winnipeg and is (or will be) on display at the Currency Museum in Ottawa.

Quote: The last penny was struck in Winnipeg.... Sorry, not sure what you said after 'Winnipeg'...I lost interest. J/K. If you're not careful in this town, it's easy to forget there is anything outside of the National Capital Region. BTW, what are the 12 scariest words to any Canadian?
