I took the leap while visiting a shop in PA. The Owner had Penny Whimsey, Sheldon '91; The Cent Book 1816-1839, Wright; and Attribution Guide for United States Large Cents 1840-1857, Grellman / Reiver all for sale! I purchased all three books and the coin below!

Using Wrights book I have ID'ed the coin below as variety 1-A (Dash after 6). Being that the coin is corroded I am mostly going off of the clear inner line, the date, Star 6 / coronet tip alignment, and the bottom curl / "2" allignment. I do think I see the dot in front of the ear. All you large cent pros: What do you think?

I'm not an expert, but IMHO agree that it's N-1.
