Hi everyone,
These notes were issued by the Colonial Bank and Trust Company in Waterbury, Ct. They were legal tender with a face value of one dollar each, but only for a specified length of time. The set consisted of 13 (81/2" X 11") certificates, one for each of the original Colonies, each a different color, and each signed, numbered, and registered.
Is there a standard guide for items like these? They were legal tender at the time.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pictures would be great to help idientify. Were those made in the 70's? I'm thinking they are commemorative notes and this bank is extermely hard to find anyhting about it.

I would guess that these are at face value if they still hold their legal tender with maybe a small premium for being commemorative.

Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can answer this better than I can.

Hi,
Still unable to upload photo from /'my pictures'. They were printed in 1976 for the Bicentennial. The brochure reads:
The Colonial Bank and Trust Company
Second New Haven Bank
Colonial Bancorp Companies FDIC
I found them in an old listing offered by LaBarre Galleries. At that time they were asking $75.00 each (images were available). They only had eight different Certificates available, but I have not been able to find anything on rarity of complete original set.
Thanks,
Dan
