Got this yesterday from my LCS, 2022 gold 1/10 oz Krugerrand, $222. I don't own any other Krugerrand except for one 1 oz silver. Premiums are much higher for fractional but I can more easily afford the lower weights. I'm waiting for my tax return and want to buy a 1 oz gold Buffalo.

If you are interested in classic gold coins, those from the Latin Monetary Union (20 Francs) usually have very low premiums over spot. For instance, a random date 20 Franc Swiss gold coin currently is about $370, which is about 4% over spot.

Thanks, yes old circulated foreign gold can have lower premiums. I don't know much about them but I have a few. When worn a little less gold though.

Quote: Say WHAT! I got tired of having beautiful coins sitting around the house in plastic tubes. Made no longer sense to me. So, I sold them. I rather have an ASE or similar coin in an album or slab. I still have a small Kennedy silver dollar stack I will keep and probably add to.

Perfectly acceptable reasoning.

Picked up 31 Canadian dimes, 2 Canadian quarters; UK: 1942 half crown, 1921 florin, 1926 and 1941 sixpence; Morocco 100 franc (1953?); German 1960 5 mark; 1919 Aussie sixpence for $67 at the LCS. Think the ASW is at least 3 ounces. BTW, the coins were weighed in calculating the cost.
