The last two look a bit odd - hwo did that cracking happen?
Can you make out the inscription on the face of that first one? That would help, but one of the experts will be able to ID it pretty quickly - thats a pretty distinctive nose.

The last two coins are modern replicas. The first coin is a provincial coin of Macrinus. I cannot vouch for the style as I do not collect these. It looks odd but then some provincials can look odd. Martin

Quote: I promise I wont ask for many more. It's no problem, I'm sure no one minds a bit. I know I don't. But if you are becoming interested in ancient coins, it would be good to learn how to attribute a good deal of coins. I know what most common coins look like now. I still need help with some. Those coins look odd to me as well, all of them.

You reckon the first one could be funny too?

I have the first coin Macrinus, 217-218AD. Nicely detailed portrait. Reverse features Apollo standing left, sacraficing over lit altar. Branch in left hand

IMHO I think the first coin looks odd like the others do. Something wrong with the portrait.

The reverse type certainly isn't Apollo. It is Liberalitas standing half left, cornucopia in left, abacus in right. Martin

Never stop asking. Thats we all are here, any oppertunity to see your coins and help is an honor and not a burden. I wish I could help but to me only the last 2 look odd... But I am not an expert. Glad to see you came back to see us.

I have several Macrinus provinicals but none have the facial style as this one.

The Macrinus is Nikopolis ad Istrum, Moesia, and has normal style. I suspect it is genuine. The other two are certainly fake. There are many reverses of Macrinus. Mine is different (Concord?) but has a nose of similar proportions.

It's not the nose that strikes me as funny (although it is funny), it's the overall appearance of the portrait. I've bought my share of "funny" coins, but I'd stay away from all three of these.
