I do love these types of threads. I think this is a VF-30 coin.

I'll say VF-35 any day. EF-40 on a good day.

Moe . . was this an upgrade or another hole filled? Nice half.

I would say VF 30 from a PCGS slab, nice rarity.

Well, Dansco in their infinite wisdom, has included the 1842 O (Small Date, which is not even included in the RedBook), the 1855 S ($3,500 at EF-40), the 1870 CC ($17,500 at EF-40), 1871 CC, ($2,400 at EF-40), 1873 Open 3, No Arrows (($8,000 at EF-40), 1874 CC ($5,000 at EF-40), 1878 CC ($3,000 at EF-40), and the 1878 S ($50,000 at EF-40, $21,000 at G-4!) in their Dansco Album.

So those are some of the holes remaining...

You guys are pretty much right on with this one!!

(When I was narrowing this coin's purchase down from two different ones, the other was graded PCGS VF-30 but the LIBERTY on this coin was sharper so I went with it. I could see this coin, possibly, slipping into a VF-30 slab on a good day).
