I don't often post on this side of the website, but I thought you guys would appreciate hearing about my dilemma. I have been trying to get my son into coin collecting, mainly by collecting Ancients as I do (come see us on the Ancients side of the website). His Grandpa has other plans for him though, he wants him to collect Classic American coins "like any red blooded American should"- end quote.
Now look what I am up against... Grandpa has said that the etrade baby has nothing on him, and judging by the last 5 weeks in the market...he is convinced he will do well...

Enjoy the pic....

Awesome picture. My granddaughter (6 years old) likes it when I give her shiny coins. That's an easy budget.

Cute picture!
He'll inherit both collections and get to choose what he wants

Maybe he'll be like me and collect US AND Ancients!
Best of both worlds

He has more gold than I do

Very cute picture. Probably fighting a bit of a losing battle as for what he should collect but as he gets older I'm sure heck have been introduced to both and decide for himself. Both have great coins

No wonder that he has a nice smile on his face, with a coin like THAT, why shouldn't he?
That cute little button nose is just to divert his parents' attention away form the other end, which has to be attended to occasionally.

Sometimes I have to feel just a little sad for such a nice little guy:

Give him lots of gold because the dollar may not be worth much when he grows up!

Very cute ancientnoob!:)
Look at the bright side. Now you have to pick up some ancient gold to compete!

You can pick up gold Byzantines for just a little over spot.

BTW, I have been enjoying collecting ancient and US coins.
More coins is good!
