Looks it to me. Only way I get that is, it is not raised. But you never know, it might be an error.

Press job for sure. If it were a double stamp the image would not be reversed like it is.

I just noticed something. Even though it is a good press job, On the mirror image it says 1978, on the coin it says 1979. I can't believe I didn't notice that at first. Definetly fake. Feel sorry for the buyer, blew over a hundred on a fake.

Has me curious. Looks like a hammer job, but how did he get the 1975 raised like that? A good question to me is, why din't he show the front? Has me curious.

Phoenix,
The 1975 is raised because that is the original obverse. What is incorrect is the Lincoln Memorial superimposed over Lincolns head, complete with reverse lettering- that is the hammered part. The seller does show both sides of the coin. The reverse has telltale signs- detail flat to nonexistant= hammer job

I can't believe someone just wasted $50 on that "scrap of copper"

Man, now I can't believe I didn't think of that. Stupid on my part. But yeah, I agree, all it is now is a scrap of copper, if that.

The first auction has me concerned since the seller apparently keeps his feedback private unless he is selling something. It is not permitted to sell items with private feedback any longer. Now that the auction is over, the seller has changed it back to private.

The second auction is strange because it looks like the raised portion is the partial image. The full obverse looks indented. I would think that it would be the other way around if this was a hammer job. The other thing is that it might be the picture. I've seen pictures that have a "negative" effect to them where the raised areas appear to be recessed and vice-versa.

IMO the second auctions raised letters are because the hammer job did not hit on center, rather the force was to the other side so the raised does not concern me, just my opinion.

Errrror.
