Hi Everyone,

Here is another coin from my collection.

The finish just jumps out at me and I plan on submitting it NGC.

What do you members think they would grade it at and what are the chances of a PL or DMPL designation?

The obverse is not quite as bold but IMO the reverse is beautiful.

Vinnie

MS-63. Could be PL.

Pictures showing how reflective the coin in, would help. I really like the cameo look though.

Here is the reflectivity scale link to determine if your Morgan is PL ...

coins.about.com/od/uscoins/f/dmpl_morgans.htm

•Semi-Prooflike (SPL) - 1 to 2 inches, devices must be frosted

•Prooflike (PL) - 2 to 4 inches of reflectivity

•Deep Mirror Prooflike (DMPL) - More than 4 inches

•Ultra Prooflike (UPL) - At least 8 inches

Dave,

Thank you very much for the link! It was very helpful, but much easier said than done.

Here are a few more pics, please excuse the gloved fingers.

Put the dollar down behind something w/ writing on it. Pull the coin back until the writing starets to get fuzzy, then measure the distance from the coin to the writing...

The obverse is about 4 inches and the reverse is 4 1/2 to 5 inches.

Would it be worth sending in, even if its just to preserve the finish?

The poor photos already posted are the best I can do for now. I am a novice at photography and software! I will try tomorrow with natural light and see how things go.

Personally, I think it would be worth sending in for the PL / DMPL designation. Really raises the value

I think it is a least a PL if not DMPL. Probably will not grade any higher than a MS-63. Very nice coin!
