I see where there's another Proof Like thread floating on the forum right now, but am curious about this one.

It's one of the cleanest, shiniest Morgans I've ever gotten.

Can ya'll please comment on PL / DMPL? Photos taken with camera phone, so perhaps not good enough....

Hard to tell with these pictures; however, I don't think this coin is reflective enough for a PL designation.

i THINK the rule is if you can read a newspaper within 4 inches of its reflection. but that is purely of what I've been told

Here is the reflectivity scale link to determine if your Morgan is PL ...

coins.about.com/od/uscoins/f/dmpl_morgans.htm

•Semi-Prooflike (SPL) - 1 to 2 inches, devices must be frosted

•Prooflike (PL) - 2 to 4 inches of reflectivity

•Deep Mirror Prooflike (DMPL) - More than 4 inches

•Ultra Prooflike (UPL) - At least 8 inches

I have never heard of a UPL. NGC does DPL which is Deep Prooflike which is basically DMPL. PCGS does DMPL. Both also do PL.

I think ANACS is the only one to have used something similar to UPL. I believe on their holders it was labeled as UDM and the criteria was at least 12".

The coin seems to be somewhat reflective but I am not sure if it's enough to get a PL.

Looks like a great looking BU coin but I do not see the reflectivity of the coin needed from the photographs to say if its PL or not. Judging by the photographs I am thinking its not but it can be tough to get shots that show reflectivity of the coin so I am just going by what I see right now

Looks like a nice coin but can't tell PL without better pictures.
