This coin looks genuine enough from the pictures, BUT

BE AWARE!!

There are far more fakes of this coin than there are genuine ones. (bit like an 1804 silver dollar)

Take this piece to a to a professional who really knows his stuff - there are some really darn good fakes of this coin out there.

I think that there is too much of of risk in buying a coin like this unless it comes with a certification from an expert that it is real. IMO it is more likely to be a fake than real.

Well I found a double stater of that weight range but I would be careful there is a a struck hoard of fakes feom the 1980s and very dangerous...look here http://www.forgerynetwork.com/asset...Do8z5aDFpZY= I would get it authenticated by an expert and take some clearer pictures please.

Looks like a die match to this example. This one is from dies that are published fake dies.

Alexander III the Great, AV Double stater, 17,2gr.
Obv. Helmeted head of Athena right.
Rev. AΛEXANDPOY, Nike standing right, holding wreath and stylis; in left field thunderbolt, below monogram ΛO.
Struck from same dies with published fake:

Martin, I do not think they are a die match

Several details but, mainly, the reverse control symbol at left does not seem to be the same and on the obv. the curl of the crest is different imo. Would be easier with bigger, clearer pics...
